the new environment would be worse. the move takes a couple weeks. getting used to a new area, new friends, and perhaps a new culture takes at least six months.

The move itself. Including leaving my old environment.

It's hard to tell. My first thought was to go with the new environment.

For me it would be the move itself. I have been moving all my life since I was born so I am very used to being in new environments often. But when I was little my dad's job always paid for the movers and I was not responsible for any of it. Mom and Dad did all the work associated with moving. I just had fun. But now I have to do everything and that is super stressful.

The physical process is exhausting, but it's also stressful not being able to go back to a place you are comfortable and familiar with to "recharge". I actually like visiting new places, but it's always nice to return home. Still, I'm leaning towards the actual process.

The move itself.

I've moved more times in my life than I care to try to recall. Even though I really hate the packing part, I actually have fun unpacking - figuring out where my stuff is going to go, how to arrange the furniture, my bookshelves, my closets, etc.

The actual moving, though, I don't like - when growing up my mother would hire movers and I'd always be afraid they'd drop a box of my stuff and break something :o

I think it would be the new environment. Too many variables and unpredictable elements both inside and outside the home. I like knowing where everything around me is, and I don't really like sitting on the opposite side of the couch that I'm usually on.

It depends on whether your new environment is a nice one or not.

If it's nice, then overall it's something to look forward to, although getting used to it could be a bit stressful at times. So I'd say moving itself is more stressful.

If it's not a nice new environment, then having to get used to it (and probably having to live there itself) is very stressful. So in this case the new environment is more stressful.

Definitely the actual move in my case. Oddly enough I don't tend to find new environments overly stressful, or at least they are not so for very long really. Making a new place my own is actually sort of fun. I do however actually detest moving. Just the thought of lugging boxes around and loading a truck for hours at a time makes me groan with frustration. In almost every single move I have been involved in, my own or someone else's, people are bickering and yelling by the half way point and that alone causes me to nearly lose it. I just hate the whole moving process, and anything related to it in general I suppose.
