note my later end up in a autism book

autism and me

Autism is a world of its own.

Outside of it a world of ignorance of people who think they?re diseased

Out of their world they are blown.

But they are still seen as different, weird or just plain dumb.

With superb hearing, and sensory overload.

With their sensitivities that make them seem numb

Some in classes which have been slowed.

Where they are smart but just need more time, or a different way to learn.

Or when meltdowns make behavior uncontrolled.

People say they listen but do they hear?

They say they speak for us, but they don?t.

They need to learn not to fear.

Autism is not a tragedy or death sentence.

It?s what made us who we are and we ask for your acceptance.

You can't get any truer than that.
