I was just wondering if people here have ever gotten homesick. You see, I used to have this best friend who's house I stayed over at nearly every single night. Back then, I had no issues with staying at places without my parents.

However, as I got older, I had lost contact with her. Well, for some reason, I acquired a severe case of homesickness every time I'm at someone's house or when I was at this college prep program called Gear-up. I would get homesick so bad that I'd be in tears. It's made my life a challenge because I just can't seem to do anything or go places without my mom being there with me. D:

That's why I was wondering if anyone else experiences a horrible case of homesickness.

I always regretted sleeping over at others houses when I was younger. My next door neighbor was my closest friend from childhood to early teens and even then I almost always ended up going back home instead of staying the night. Last overnight stay I had was about a year ago and yes, I did indeed get homesick. I believe if I had gone away and stayed in the dorms for university that I would have never adjusted because of homesickness and probably would've ended up commuting anyways. For me, it's not so much about the people at home as it is that my home/room is my haven and the only place I'm truly comfortable.
