as some of you know i re-started highschool, this year im in easy classes and have understanding teachers, which is great!! but im still finding myself distracted and really really really struggling to keep focus, so much that i overload in school and have to leave.

i have had ADHD (my ADHD is more severe than my ASD, its a co-diagnosis) all my life and it only started affecting me in grade 3 and i never learned how to cope with it and keep my focous, it feels like someone is always in my face in class, constantly telling me to look at them instead of my work or the teacher, i space out all the time and zone out without realizing it, its very frustrating, i want to graduate and go to colledge which i dout will be any easier. what should i do? do you think its time to get my Psych involved and modify my work and classes? im seeing my psych on Monday, what should i do until then????

The one option would be to try stimulants. That's what I take. My ADHD used to be very severe growing up, and I started taking stimulants immediately. Talk to your psych about possible stimulants because they are very helpful, especially if your ADHD is this severe for you.

my psychologist cannot prescribe any medication, only a Psychyatrist or a Medical doctor can prescribe medication

Oh. i thought by psych, you meant a psychiatrist. D: It's still something to consider though. Do your teachers allow you to listen to music? If so, that might help. Other than that, I have no other option since I've taking stimulants since the second grade. :(

my Psychologist really tries to avoid medications for autism because he wants me to adapt on my own, so i dont rely on the medication. and yes, all my teachers dont mind me listening to music but listening to the teacher gets difficult after 20 minutes of classtime and i end up drowning them out by drawing or popping in my headphones, but your right, it makes things a LOT less stressfull

I think another alternative is to maybe try google. You'd be surprised how much you can actually find. I can't really search for you because I think it's better if you do. I just feel like it's easier for you to find what you want.

Go to a doctor and get Adderall or some other ADHD medicine prescribed. Adderall really helps me. My life is drastically more horrible without it.

which is exactly why my Psychologist doesnt want me on drugs, if i ever were to stop or forget it i wouldn't be able to handle it, and i'd need to take it everyday until i decide i dont need it.

When you forget to take it once, you just get hypersomnia.
