So I went to the doctor today for the first time in a decade for a check up. While I was there I also told her about my brother being autistic and my suspicion that I am too. Given that neither I nor my mother will drive in big cities she is going to try to get me a meeting with a specialist via telemedicine. Basically I will go to the office and Skype with a hotshot in the field.

Anyone done this. What can I expect? Obviously it will focus on just conversation since they won't be able to watch a lot of my movements, such as how I walk. What kind of questions can I expect?

I think using skype to render GP services is disgusting it's set to become the norm. You're expected to use your webcam to help them diagnose you. Remember there's no privacy on the internet. So unless you don't mind disclosing details of your private life stick to clinic visits.

That's the problem, I can't get to the specialist. Neither mom nor I can drive in the big city. The doctor wanted to send me to them, but between city traffic and being 3 hours from Atlanta that ain't happening. That's a large part of why I've put it off this long. As for private details, I don't give a damn so long as my bank account isn't one of those details.

This appointment will be to verify that I do, indeed, have autism. I imagine they'll want to know details about problems I talk about right here. No big deal as far as I am concerned.

Skype appointment sounds terrifying. I refuse to buy webcam so that nobody can video call me.
