We are considering (US) public housing for me. I am extremely noise sensitive and I'm concerned that may be a problem.
The applications have an area for writing down needs one might have related to disabilities, etc.
Surely some of you have experience with this subject. Do you have advice, suggestions, warnings, hints?

Do what you need to do adapt to the environment - or adapt the environment to yourself.

Soundproof rooms/windows etc if you need to. Wear earplugs/headphones.

No matter where you live you'll have to adapt to the environment as best you can.. and if you can't go live somewhere quiet, you'll have to come up with solutions to make the place livable for you.

I've been in both public, and private housing over the years. I can tell you this much, wherever you live you're going to face the same issues at some point. Public housing tends to get a bad rep because naturally people assume it's low life scum who live in them - which is completely wrong and stupid.

You may get a house with quite neighbours, you may get one with noisy neighbours. It doesn't matter what type of housing it is, thats a possibility anywhere you decide to live. Before accepting a property speak to neighbours, and not just the ones who are either side of you.
