Since the 1990's I have a phrase that I tell people especially family members who say stupid things or treated my badly. It can be used in the general public. That word is Duh with the h sound being dragged out. The other one is Der with the r sound being dragged out. sometimes my brother and mom use it against showing me how stupid I look. I just shrug my shoulder and continue. If you say stupid or obvious things met the Duh and der. Its my one form of empowerment

In Australia, late 80's to early 90's there was a comedy show called Full Frontal that used the phrase a lot.
