It happens mostly with doors, and I wonder if it is autism, or plain common.

I am going to open a door, and it does not open (because I need to press a button to my right). I keep trying to open it, until someone tells me there is a button to my right. I always wonder how long it'd take me to open it otherwise.

The other day the door was kind of jammed, and I waited for a security officer to open it for me. When I am going to leave the establishment, I start looking for a button thinking it is locked, but the door simply needs oil in the hinges, so all I had to do was push it real hard, and it opened. I spent like twenty seconds between pushing it softly and then looking for the button.

Just today, I went to the subway station, and I was going to recharge the subway card. I insert one dollar into the machine, but it is not taking it. I keep trying. Nothing happens. I insert the card. Nothing happens. Then an employee finally told me I had to press a button to tell the machine I was going to insert money.

If the way of doing something is not what I expect, I keep trying to do it that way, regardless.

Typical autism. That´s why some people believe aspies to be dumb.
