If you've ever heard the well known Quote by John Donne "No man is an island" which in part was suggesting to say that Humans do not thrive when isolated from others. (Although the quote means more than that.)
I find that Quote hard to relate to because I often find that I thrive in working on tasks or problems more so when I am isolated from others rather than when I am integrated with them. Do any of you feel the same in some way?
As an aspie, I think that I was born an island.
I was very much as you describe, and did thrive in isolation. I say was because that seems to be changing now, and I've been trying to figure out exactly why.
But, for most of my life other people would create intrusive distraction which caused anxiety and made it harder for me to focus on tasks, especially ones involving a lot of thinking.
