The story: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/im ... al-4826932

Basically a teenager commits suicide after being trolled online over his fan fiction.

I got a lot of emotions from this story.

1. I wished he would have found a community that would embrace him. I find mental health forums like this one to be better than communities about individual interests.

2. There could be someone on Wrong Planet that feels just like him.

So, I'm going to offer my friendship. I may not be into My Little Pony but I do have interests that seem strange for my age, mainly video games aimed at children. If there's anyone out there who feels lonely and keeps mostly to themselves who may be very sensitive to trolls posts then I want you to reach out to a group that can help you. A place like Wrong Planet is full of people that will understand you. They'll be disagreements and the odd troll here, but you need to learn to ignore the bad stuff and focus on those good moments.

I've had one of my blogs trolled and I ended up deleting it, now I've got a new one up and I just ignore the troll posts now. Actually, I'm going to put them all in one post for my followers to see when I get enough. They really hurt, I mean I always want to explain to them how I'm not what they think I am. But they're just being jerks. Being in the video game community has made me learn to take insults and not really be bothered by them. I too was very sensitive but then I just hardened my heart to them and now it hurts less. I still think I'm a compassionate person though.

I just hate to see someone take their own life over something like this. If I can I want to help people back away from such thoughts. I've been and still do get so depressed I become suicidal and I've fought hard with my own thoughts to reach a point where I know I won't do it but I still have very real feelings that make me want to. If I didn't have this one person in my life it might be harder to fight the thoughts.

So, I don't know if anyone is here that is going through the same thing as Adam but I just want you to know you don't need to be alone. And by 'alone' I mean not thinking any one in the world cares about you. That type of alone that makes you struggle to get through each day.

Why would someone harass another person over a harmless interest? I swear today people are more cynical and not understanding of others than ever. This is just another reason why the human race has outlived it's usefulness.

We've had a few Bronies on my teen forums and they've been treated well thankfully.

I'm not a brony/pegasister, but I do love MLP. I'm also on a forum for them too, and I've learned to accept them. You do get a lot of the more extreme fans who think the ponies as their wives. However, I'm not the type of person who judges anyone for what they are into. People are ignorant and stupid for giving this guy a hard time. I felt really bad when I heard this story because... brony or not, no one deserve to be bullied. I've been down that road many times, both online and offline. I know what he went through.

As for him having AS, it wouldn't surprise me. I've discovered a lot of autistic bronies on the forums I go on for it. Most of them have Asperger Syndrome. In fact, a friend I met on there has Severe AS and other issues. He has had a lot of trouble on the forums as well. I don't talk to him as much as I used to though. People will bully anyone for anything nowadays just to get a kick out of it. -_-

the daily mail (gross i know) article mentions that he had 'a learning disability' but its not specified. its very sad that he killed himself.

Does that mean it didn't happen?

I even found some truthful articles in The Daily Mirror.

I just wish I could do something more for these people who kill themselves over being trolled.
