http://www.thewire.com/national/2010/05 ... qus_thread discusses this in detail. Are you an Asker or a Guesser? (My hypothesis is that almost all autistics would be Askers by definition.)

Direct communication is best. As an Aspie, communication is to exchange information, and indirect methods are ineffective.

I'd rather get info than guess it.

I like to do my own research, though. I "ask" myself so to speak LOL--though I do ask people sometimes.

Alas, there are times when one has to have the flexibility to "guess." This occurs in the working world all the time.

Ask.

I've worked mainly in high tech and some in finance - both require directness and specificity.
I see little difference between the social finesse used in some workplaces and deceit.

Ask. I don't understand why you'd guess, it inconveniences everyone at the very least.

Ask Culture of course. Guessing only gave me a headache and 'bad stares' from others.

Ask, mostly.
I do try to guess my chances before asking, and I do find it hard to say no sometimes, but still an Ask overall.
Can't count the times I've cursed Guess culture and wished it didn't exist!
Well now at least I know the word for it. Thx

I'm an asker, definitely. However, sometimes there are situations when I try to lead the conversation to a certain topic before I ask, and every now and then I even get an offer before having to ask. And sometimes there are situations when I'm too shy to ask, that is, when the person I'd need to ask scares me.
