This is a terrible story with a more positive outcome. It is a tragic illustration of what can happen to vulnerable ASD people because of ignorance, inflexible systems and abuse of power; and how the collective pressure of strangers can intervene to stop these abuses in their tracks.

Imagine the outcome if no-one had done anything. The power of strangers and the internet is not to be underestimated.
