How are Aspie obsessions different than just "interests"?

The difference is that Aspies can live on their obsession alone. If I'm obsessed I don't need to eat, drink or sleep. I ignore the needs of my own body. I ignore everything around me. Eight hours will seem like eight minutes. I will lose track of the days and I don't care.

OCD is obsessions you don't want to have. Autistic "Special Interests" are topics you really enjoy. Both can get in the way of the way of you doing necessary things or even other special interests.

After reading posts throughout this forum I can't answer that. Some people here have interests that I can't differentiate from NT obsessions.

My autistic friend's special interests are narrow, perseverative/encompassing and very obvious.

Yes, I agree with that, too.
