He is the opposite of what the western media makes him out to be.
Do I think he is Aspie?
I have always thought he was.
I am very Proud that he is one of us. :D

One link was missing but I did not see one Aspergers trait mentioned in the ones that worked. From the video's he is a religious guy or playing one on TV. No eye contact and looking down during prayer or spiritual occasions is not uncommon. Plenty of neurotypicals are bright, driven and logical thinkers.

before making judgments ---READ about the man for yourself ...watch him in videos an interviews, see how he interacts with those around him . ..what he says how he behaves.
Dont take the words of the NT western media types and our awful NT politicians in washington.

I read this in the paper about a month ago.

I think it's absolute nonsense and motivated by political propaganda - they want to smear Putin, and think this will lower any regard for him in the public mind.

Putin is doing a more than adequate job of smearing himself, his outrageous stance toward the Ukraine unveils any statesman-like pretence of late.

It seems unlikely to me that anyone on the spectrum could survive in the KGB for decades and rise to the top of it because you would need extreme people awareness skills just to survive at all in the KGB (which no doubt still exists in some form).

How dare you! The claim could be based on a self-diagnosis, which is totally valid.

It's irrelevant whether the guy's an Aspie.

He's certainly no statesman. He seems to want to install the Politburo again, and make Russia Soviet again.

No Cat Scans, MRIs, fMRI's, etc. are used in the diagnosis of ASDs.

It's Pentagon people with nothing better to do diagnosis, clearly more valid then self diagnosis or professional diagnosis.

I really hate this because they're using to make him look bad and like he has a weakness, but autism isn't a weakness, it's a disability. I think it's a cultural thing. Most Russian men I know are like that (not saying that all are like that). For example, showing emotion is a bad thing. If he is then okay, if he's not then boooo.

Still, he's a jerk who (I think) is ruining Russia and is making me really ashamed to be from there.

Side note: I share a birthday with him xD

Some neuroscience researchers are making outrageous and erroneous claims though. A disappointing amount of the research which presents as some sort of MRI breakthrough lacks even basic statistical validity, as the journal Nature has pointed out:
