I have been talking to myself for a good many years now (sometimes in public), and I feel as though I need some help in that regard. Any suggestions?

Try writing things down instead, or finding people to talk to maybe? It's not so uncommon, so I wouldn't worry unless you do it obsessively.

Get a bluetooth. No joke. If you have one of those, no one questions you talking out loud. If you're holding a cellphone as well while talking it's an even better disguise. They don't even have to work to be used as props.

Don't sweat it. I do it, too. Most people are so wrapped up in themselves, they don't notice what others are doing.

I talk to myself all the time, although I manage to keep it down to very little in public, only doing it in those rare moments when nobody's around.

But Ezra's suggestion of making it look like you're on the phone with someone is excellent. So many people these days wander around talking on hands-free devices, it looks like everyone is talking to themselves these days.

Just put your hand over your mouth when you do it. It muffles the sound.

I talk to myself too. I also know a girl from my special ed who talks to herself constantly. I growl when I'm angry too.
