Autism in the mainstream classroom.

Hi, my name is Jodie, I am a third year university student at Cardiff Metropolitan University. I am currently writing my dissertation and I have chosen my topic as: 'How practitioners support children with Autism in a mainstream classroom?'

I have chosen this topic as my chosen career is to work with children with Autism as this has always been a passion of mine and I wanted to look more into children with autism being integrated into mainstream classrooms. I have heard both positive and negative experiences so I wanted to look more in depth into the topic to not only help me with my own practice but hopefully to help other teachers or professionals working with children with Autism also.

So, I was wondering whether any of you could help me with this by telling me your own experiences regarding your children, everything you say will be confidential and you have the right to ask not to be included at any time.

I'm curious about why you present your study in that manner - my university has several rules for all studies needing participants and your outline definitely falls short of the ethics guidelines.

I am only looking at basic opinions, nothing is going to be actually included in the research, otherwise you are correct I wouldn't be able to do it this way. It has been approved by my university because I am not using this as actual content in my dissertation. I am only asking whether peoples experiences or opinions are positive or negative.

Led my to believe that the information would be used, also could you provide a university contact for anyone who does want to withdraw?

Just so you know, there have been a few researchers asking similar questions on the site recently, asking members if they could provide personal information or fill in questionnaires etc, and some of them appeared to be bogus. So I think you might find that a lot of people here will hesitate to co-operate. As ConceptuallyCurious says, the way you present your study is rather vague, and may make people suspicious.

It doesn't mean YOU'RE bogus.

It just means that there is a certain amount of skepticism on this Site.

It's not reflection on you, personally.
