For a start I feel my AS was a 1 in a million fluke because I'm female, no complications during pregnancy or birth, and Autism is not rife in my family, and no traces of Autism at all in my dad's side.

But I'm talking more about small things what shouldn't bother me but do. Like I always happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

-Wherever I stand in a shop, everybody wants to get there, just where I'm standing, even if it looks the place I'm least likely to be in the way.

-Whenever an authority figure is in a bad mood, I happen to be the first person they see making a small mistake, and I'm the one that gets yelled at. I think that's because I'm too sensitive to other people's moods, and so I get uneasy and more likely to make mistakes, so that might not be flukey as such.

-Wherever I sit on the bus and a crowd of rowdy teenagers get on, they always come and sit around me, even if there's plenty of empty seats at the back where teenagers usually like to sit.

-When an electronic system decides to break, it's always when I've last used it, even though I know how to work it and I am not heavy-handed.

-When I book a week off work, I find out that my brother has happened to book the same week off too (we don't get on).

-We get one week of snow a year, but it always snows on the day I have planned an outing I was looking forward to.

Does anyone have unlucky Murphy's law fluke things you'd like to share with me? It's best to laugh about it, otherwise I will cry in despair.

I always walk out the door just as the neighbors are pulling into their drive, and I end up having to have a conversation with them. Damn I hate that!

Yes. In was born without any sense of timing. I am always being told I just missed an opportunity. The computers often break down the minute I walk in the store and I am usually behind the customer who has a problem and needs all the managers called.

I spent the last year dealing with Vocational Rehab. I got a couple of opportunities, I am thinking maybe I am just about finished with Autistic burnout, so what happens I suffer a stroke which sets me way back.

same here, just pure luck. except, not female. :? and it's not too bad. it's nice to be the only aspie i've ever known (with one exception.....maybe)

for me it's more like i am purposely kept in the dark about some things., that i am always in a small minority to not know about something that just happened, but that's probably more of a la lack of attention on my part than a fluke.

"when there's a 50 50 percent chance of something, 90% of the time (other X) will happen". something like that, it seems familiar.

I was born with a couple physical disabilities which are supposedly genetic that no one in my family has & no one in my family has anything like autism either but I'm the lucky one to be born with all that stuff along with bad things we do have a family member with.

I feel like a spontaneous mutation with aspergers, I have no family history and my identical twin does not have it either. As for luck I seem to get out of things unscathed quite a bit.

I feel that some things are down to luck or a fluke.
I am the only one with AS in my family, though the mental health stuff runs on my mom's side.

I have these weird knacks with things, animals and people.
I can easily soothe a crying baby, make a baby laugh all with great ease that no one else can.

Animals come up to me and want me to interact with them, be it a cat or a wild animal.
I can make a cat purr by petting them, when no one else can.
I can make a rabbit settle down in my arms.
etc...

Little kids love me and choose me for some strange reason.

I can play games and win them with great ease, including gambling.
I can do things that other people can't and that seemingly strange.

I always stick out and am chosen both on good and bad regardless of the odds.

Things happen to me regularly that make no sense and seemingly have no connection to me.

Yeah my life is both cruel and down right strange.

I always wonder if I'm cursed or being played with fate or just purely coincidental that I just end up most at the time picking the crappiest things or worst of times or the best sometimes... Or maybe just because in between isn't always noticeable?
-When using the internet, I always get the slowest. Even no one else is sharing the net, and I didn't even open too many. The weather is fine too.
-As I'm the only person at my class who complains about the room temperature being cold, the room we always use is mostly the coldest.
-Although it's not always bad thing, I'm always noticeable. No matter how much I act invisible. (Even I'm asleep, at the back of the class seat) Even to strangers doing demonstrations in class, I'm always being picked as a volunteer.
-As mentioned above, whenever I try my best not attracting attention, people come. Act NT or no acting.
-As mentioned above, again, if I did any good or bad, people come. Sometimes up to the point of mass overreaction.
-Whenever I hate someone enough, they end up being punished or getting their lives messier. And whenever I like someone enough, everything goes better to them. Even up to now...
-Infants and toddlers are drawn to me. As I walk at the public crowd, sometimes a few of them at the same time stares at me as I pass by.

Female, no complications at birth, no family histories of autism at both parents' side relative... Yes, that too.
Hell, my sister is born an NT. And both my parents that time are in their 30s.

And right now, last night I had a miserable night. I've been sneezing all night that I didn't get any sleep or preperation. Now I have to speak at the front of the entire class at 2 subjects (a report and a defense. I cannot skip them). All the rooms are cold, my throat is sore, my head hurts, and my nose is still stuffy. :x

it seems I am always in the slowest lane at the supermarket or the highway/freeway, and no matter which lane I move in, that one always slows down and the others speed up markedly. my mother said I was a jinx born with a black cloud over me. :|

^ That supermarket queue thing often happens to me, too. I try to pick the least crowded-looking queue but some trouble stops the flow.

Also a group of noisy smelly uncivilized people (trash) often sit around me on the train.

^^^^
the "uncivilized people" might subconsciously be attracted by your relative brightness of spirit, IOW you might be as a light attracting the moths.
