That Aspies are probably more prone to coming up with theories about life, the universe, human behavior, Autism, AS, or anything else they set their minds to, than most other groups of people.

Evidence?

This forum.

I've seen more theories expounded here than on any other forum I have ever been on over the past ten years.

I had some other thoughts I almost added, but realized it would be best to just keep them to myself for now.

Let your imaginations ponder what they might be...

Then expound your own theory about that if you like!

I'm not gonna get into it in my current frame of mind 'cause I doubt the outcome would be very productive.

Yes.
And probably to a casual observer it would seem to be paradoxical.

But when instinct is disturbed , the intellectual side is widened , much like a blind person experiencing the world through the other 'enhanced' senses.

It always puzzled and disturbed me that so many people, apparently intelligent and in many cases certified thinkers or at least academics [NOT the same thing] were so totally uninterested in thinking about ANYTHING in breadth and depth.

Yes ,and thinking here is for utilitarian purposes, to make the world go around .

I can think of my compatriots in early school when they were more inquisitive and opened minded; but later in life eking out an existence in the world ,and raising a family ties up time. Culture stymies this in folks....... there is little time except to consume.

Nah. It's not Aspies specifically, just introverts in general.

A lot of these theories about life/people/etc. are starting so sound alike to one another, though, much to my dismay. It's gotten to the point where I'm not even interested in debating them anymore, since I know exactly what kind of response I'm gonna get. :?

A very good point from MrXxx. Einstein, Newton, Lewis Carol, the mathematician who wrote "Alice in wonderland", and a host of other known or unknown creative geniuses. All were suspected of, or known to have high functioning autism. We are the trailblazers and leaders into the unknown. Always coming up with new and different ideas in whatever fields of the mind we choose to explore.

We use lateral thinking skills for survival
Enlightened, awakened minds who see the world from different, often very different, perspectives.

Totally agree. :) We develop/fine-hone/extend certain cognitive capacities to compensate for the ones we're missing/short on.

Intense, 'reflective", meticulous almost obsessive analysis of things, and the constant creation/production of theories and resultant "rules" about life, to make up for not doing it reflexively.

I think your theory could be true.

There are 600 visitors at any given time here and I do wonder if there are any scientists/psychologist lurking to observe this "phenomenon" , perhaps just looking for a small missing piece of some pet theory.

I agree, but not to this intensive degree, and that is the difference; not the accuracy per say. Just look at the INTJ forum and compare.

Interestingly, I am privy to a High I.Q. closed forum , and there is an aspie there that impresses the introverted High I.Q. nuero-atypical folks.
