Is this a common feature of Aspergers? Maybe even a root cause of the symptoms?
Someone with a myopic mindset thinks only of a small set of things that are immediately apparent to them, not bothering with abstraction or long-term planning. They will cope and solve problems poorly and will have a limited set of interests. They will be more impulsive.
Someone who is less myopic will be more thoughtful and thus more emotionally restrained. They will have greater empathy, greater motivation and a greater sense of purpose. They will not act fearfully.
