Recently on this forum, we had an interesting discussion about the use and misuse of CBT, especially how this is increasingly being allied to a political agenda in the UK (though I would contend that it is far from limited to the UK).

Today I came across this piece which particularly discusses the misuse of CBT in relation to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I have not personally experience CFS though I am acquainted with people who have, often following a serious viral event like some forms of pneumonia, glandular fever etc. Although this article is a few years old now, it makes some very interesting points - particularly (I think) in the contention that doctors are increasingly being told what to think rather than how to think. For anyone interested in the interface between political agendas, treatment and mistreatment, it may be fascinating reading:

I have started reading the article and feel like it will anger me too much, so I will not finish reading it. I'm not a UK citizen anyways. I have my own problems with government in Canada.
