I don't really understand what you mean, but I'd like to. Could you give a concrete example?
I'm not a musician, so my terminology may be inaccurate.
What I mean is when two people sing a song at the same time - like in a duet. Theoretically, they are in unison, so it should sound like two voices blending together at once. But what I hear is one voice followed immediately by another, slightly out of sync. Like when you watch a video where the sound track is just slightly off from the picture.
