Interview today!
I have a work experience interview with the BBC today and I've got to say Iam a lot more nervous than I thought I would be.
I have thought about it a lot and right now I'm thinking the best thing to do woukd be that as soon as we enter the interview I just say something like 'Before we start, I just want you to know, I have aspergers syndrome, so please do not be offended if I din't make a lot of eye contact when I'm talking. My brain forgets to sometimes when I'm concentrating on what I'm saying.'
And try and play it with a smile and a bit of humour kind of thing. I figure if I state it from the off set then if I need to clarify a question later it won't be as awkward.
I'm trying to think of it less as a conversation, more as a performance. If I think of it like palaying a character a little like me I am hoping I'll be less suceptable to some of the issues I can have talking to strangers. I just have to keep reminding myself that they accepted my CV.
If anyone has any last minute advice about interviews it would be really much appreciated, thanks. Four hours to go.
