How do you get blood stains out of clothes? Specifically my own human blood off of shirts, and T shirts?

I'm not a "homemaker"

But blood is easy to get rid off. Just let it dry and turn brown. Usually, it becomes hard and "crackly."

Even though you are somewhat blunt, you seem like an intelligent person; I hope you didn't harm yourself, or that somebody didn't harm you.

I would just put it in the washer. It should come out. It's not like wine stains.

Well..this gives me an excuse to vent. Mad at myself, mad at a doctor, angry about insurance.

Have this cyst in my back. A gross thing that looks like a small deflated party balloon coming out of the skin on my back. Could've had it taken out years ago when I had insurance. Now it starting to bleed all of the time (like a bursting water balloon). The young doctor years ago sorta inadvertently talked me out of doing anything about it (he spoke in detached medical textbook lingo "its a cosmetic issue"). He meant that it was not actually malignant skin cancer. But though it isnt super serious it aint an honor to have the stupid ugly thing. Since I dont look at it very often (because its on my back) I kinda forgot about it. And now its suddenly interfering with life. I wish that he had spoken like the older experienced doc I just now recently showed it to who said "just get rid of it...here is the name of dermatologist...just have it cut out!". Great. Now that I cant afford to go to that dermatologist a medical authority finally persuades me in plain talk to go to him! (am in process getting new insurance- and whatever-somehow I will get it done-may end up spending money to save time-or spending time to save money-whatever- but I just wanna vent about it).

I would think the same thing--I should have gotten rid of that crappy thing a long time ago--when I had insurance. Now that you don't have insurance, you're somewhat screwed.

Don't beat yourself over it, though. I would go to the doctor, though--it might get infected.

I'm guessing you're in one of those jobs which pay little, yet is above the Medicaid threshold.

If money is the issue then spend the time, however it seems as if its the issue itself, so spend the money and put it all behind you.

Sorry, I'm quite terse, but I do understand how irritating this will be until its resolved. You can't blame yourself or others for that matter about why you're at this point because it'll get you nowhere. Focus on the solution and how to achieve it, imagine yourself when this is all over, time passes and you'll soon forget it

It's best to get it out as soon as possible, before it dries. Use cold water - not hot - and put it right under the faucet to let the water run through the stain. You can put a small amount of detergent on it and gently rub the fabric while the water runs through it. Don't leave it to soak because the stain may just spread, it needs to wash away.

If it's dried blood, I would use the same method, but you may need to use warm water to get it to soften up. Get it wet and try to get the stain out as much as possible before putting it in the machine.

If the fabric is white, you can use hydrogen peroxide on it. Sometimes you can use a weak peroxide solution on colors, but be careful, test it first to make sure it won't bleach the color. Make sure you rinse it out completely, don't leave any peroxide in the fabric no matter what color it is.

I have heard that spitting on the stain will help it come out, because the enzymes in saliva help break down blood. I've also heard that hair spray will remove blood stains (pretreat with hair spray before washing). But I've never tried either of these methods. It can't hurt to try either one though.

Whatever you do, after you wash it in the machine, check to make sure the stain is gone before you put it in the dryer. Drying almost any kind of stain with heat will make it set permanently.
