I haven't used meds since when I was 13 where I got into a massive argument with my parents prior to the recall of risperdal in America. (long story) I haven't been on meds since and my Tourettes is more of a pain and I have been now having more frequent anxiety attacks and emotional episodes.

My guidance counselor recommended that I return to them, despite of how other psychiatrists exploited my parents despair for money from medication. I'm hesitant to return and I'm visiting my doctor in a month so I still have some time to think about it.

I'm guessing you're in the US, but here's treatment options and advice as stated by our (UK) health service, hopefully it'll make you more aware of your options either using therapy or the various type of medication.

If I were you, I would look into taking Cannabidiol oil. It should be quite helpful at treating your Tourette's. It's all natural and has been shown to be effective at treating many different types of neurological disorders. I've been taking CBD oil and have found it to help alleviate a bit of my Asperger's symptoms, much better than the synthetic pharmaceutical medications. Also, the natural medicine is legal.

I would avoid taking the route of going back to using synthetic medications.
