Hello,
Just wondering if anyone could recommend any good books on aspergers in adults especially in girls please. I have only quite recently found out that I may have aspergers and have my final assignment next month. So would love to find out more about it and coping with it. Thank you.

I read Aspergirls by Rudy Simone and Pretending to be Normal by Liane Willey. I thought both were good but, as I haven't read others, don't have anything to compare them to. (Plus, I'm no expert). I did find a resource once with a bunch of suggested books but I can't remember where (I did a lot of online searching and didn't bookmark anything, unfortunately.)

I'm sure others would have better suggestions than me. And good luck :)

'The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome' by Dr Tony Attwood is excellent, and is often regarded as the classic text. Although he is a practising psychologist, the book is very accessible and has a useful bibliography that suits professionals and non-professionals alike.

Thank you for your replies. I have already read a book by Liane Willey Called Safety Skills for Asperger Women which was pretty good so I check out her other book too. I have seen a few reviews of The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome' and it looks a great book :)

I would also recommend Attwood's book. However, I personally found Aspergirls to be of little value as it seemed to be based largely on personal experience and I did not relate well to it.

Martian in the playground is a good book written by an Aspie woman.
