In the ER yesterday

Yesterday was in the ER because of vomiting everything This is the third or fourth time I've been in the ER for this everything I eat comes up they gave me an Iv a shot medication mylanta took a blood test and and a x-ray. I also went earlier to another hospital for a upper G.I. series. that was ordered by my Gastro doctor.

I don't know what it's causes this vomiting but it's been on and off for about a year now. The weird thing is I haven't been losing much if any weight not that that's what I'm going for.

They gave me Zofran another medication and a Suppository. I took a Zofran hours ago but I think Think I spit/thew it up but I'm still throwing up. My mom says it takes time to work. I'm taking it again now and I hope it works.

The hospital says this time and I was there that it has something to do with my mucus and my flem. Just didn't know what it is they said that that I can control it. They said to drink a lot of water. And sent me home.

I hope you can find a way to make it stop
Reminds me of when I was pregnant with my first kid and had hyperemesis and couldn't stop throwing up. Zofran was the only thing that helped.

If it's phlegm and mucus, shouldn't they try a decongestant or something?

Drainage from your sinuses, that run down your throat and into your stomach can make you nauseous. If you have a very strong gag reflex, it will make you vomit.

My Aspie husband has a VERY strong gag reflex. When he gets a head cold and the gunk starts draining, he will have cyclical vomiting. Once he starts vomiting, it is hard to stop. That is why he always has Zofran at home.

We always have a bottle of Zofran handy. Did they give you the quick dissolved tablets or just the pills? The quick dissolve work almost immediately. Just take the pills with the least amount of water to get it down.

The pill Zofran starts in 30 mins, and 1 hour for it to really kick in.

I bet it was just a "bug" "going around."

How are you feeling today?

I had a vomiting / diarrhoea infection when I was a young teenager. I caught it from school most probably as it was going around there. My abusive mum refused to let me to see a doctor. I started vomiting up blood but she said "there's no way I'm letting you go to hospital, suck a couple of ice cubes". Thankfully my immune system overcame the infection eventually.
