People make jokes I don't smile or I don't catch on to something...people give me strange looks because I don't react the way a "normal.' Person does my father tells me to be more "outgoing."

I dont' think he gets it, he tells me to go out make friends but I can't I don't understand people and they don't understand me most of the time they think I'm being a bytch including family I see they way they look at me sometimes.

Or they call me mean saying why can't you be this way why do you have to be so uptight..

Anyways do you guys know what look I'm talking about or is it only me? :|

No. I had this trouble a lot growing up. Now I don't feel the need for socializing because I realized I don't get along with most people anyway. Very liberating it was.

Sometimes people give me strange looks too when I'm talking to them. From the way they look at me I don't think they see me as mean though. I think it's more like they are creeped out by me or something.

People also give me strange looks when I'm speaking.

well, yes i do sometimes and sometimes people are blown away, as they expect me to be something only to then get quit philosophical in some conversations and are amazed at my depth of thought and see jaws drop, when i havent even scratched the surface.. Many think i am very""Deep"".. and i suppose i am, im always thinking and rather than just take the surface answer i like to look deeper into those answers.. Also i do get told i can be rather stoic as most of my emotions are expressed from the internal and not the external that is expected.. Mind you, Being Stoic was once its own form of philosophy that was taught! I think it a philosophy that many on the spectrum could easily master to a level! lol

I get stared at sometimes for speaking...I mean, someone has looked at me from several feet away to see what I'm doing, at different times.

Yes, sometimes I don't get jokes and totally misunderstand what people mean when they speak to me (the old story I suppose: I take them literally but they actually mean something else).
According to my wife sometimes people react with amazement at my social actions. I rarely see this myself as I don't often look at faces until I know someone and feel more comfortable around them,
I think you are just like many of us.

Do people ever give me a strange look in social situations?

How would I know? :)

(I wouldn't notice that a look was "strange;" I probably wouldn't even notice they were looking at me)

To tell the truth I honestly never noticed ... Then again surely something had to have been wrong when people wouldn't want to talk to me anymore.

I have never really noticed this, but I'm not the best with facial expressions and my strangeness is quite externally obvious. It probably happens and I just don't notice.

Yeah, this is what I get sometimes. First the look seems to say "you're weird and I think you may be threatening or horrible", then later it seems to shift to "you are not a person"; so many social details and it's not about logic or fair so it's tricky.
