Since I took the tests I've had a lot of ups and downs, more than usual, after all my life having very little self-conscience now I am even more lost.
I identify with very intimate AS confessions in detail, but my teachers say I don't look ND at all. That confuses me a lot.
I'm 100% sure there is something that makes me different, but what if not ASD could explain how I think, feel and behave?

If your teachers think there is such a thing as "looking ND" they are already disqualified for ignorance and should be disregarded.

Neurodiverse, opposite of neurotypical (NT).

As for the question, I'm not too sure. There are members here on the schizophrenia spectrum (without autism) who score high on the AQ, so that's one cause I guess. Males score higher than females so I guess being male is a cause. Think people with ADHD tend to score higher than NTs too.

But apart from that, people on the BAP (broad autistic phenotype, those who share the traits as part of their personality but are subclinical in that they have no clinically significant impairment in function that goes with ASD) score high on the AQ and other screening tools. Only an assessment would tell them apart from those with an ASD.

You could have autistic traits, be an introvert, certain states of mind. So many things, really. My friend is an introvert but definitely not autistic and he scored 33.

There is the intriguing part. I'm assigned female at birth, but I'm trans-masculine/ agender and score 45.
I've been researching on all it very deeply (I love it) and found a theory that relates FTM and AS traits because of the masculinization of the brain.
Another hypothesis I came to in my personal case is that I'd mastered in mimicking and faking an stereotyped persona. Not knowing who I really am supports that part.

Well not all people that score high on a AQ test are autistic per se. It just means you have a few autistic tendencies or, perhaps, a sub-type of autism inadequate for a full diagnosis like SCD.
