Does anyone else feel as though they have a metaphorical bank of switches (like an electrical substation) inside their mind which controls their interests and obsessions? Completely out of the blue I can become totally fixated on something but then one day I'll wake up and have absolutely no further interest in the thing at all, as if some internal switch as suddenly flicked to the "Off" position.

Someone here has an avatar depicting that thought. It's a switch with "utterly obsessed" at the top and "disinterested" at the bottom.
I have one of those switches.

Yup.
These switches are interconnected.
I at least can't hyperfocus on two things at once.
