So for my entire life I've had a pretty significant need for deep pressure on my back. When I lived at home with my parents I probably managed to get either my parents or siblings to give me backrubs 3-4 times a day for example and even these days if I go to the dentist office and have a lead radiation shield blanket draped over me for x rays I tend to find it very satisfying.

It is not uncommon for me to feel a very distinct need for pressure on my back when I am at work where there isn't a very good way for me to ask people for a massage if for no other reason than that I don't have a lot of relationships with people at work where it would come naturally to ask for something like that. I tend to be the quiet guy at work who at most manages to make a few odd jokes here and there through the day but has a hard time starting or maintaining conversations. It seems it might come across creepy to just out and out ask for a massage from coworkers I barely talk to. Today it was worse since some of my coworkers were actually giving each other a lot of platonic snuggles and it was raising my awareness of my need for pressure or a massage up to a fairly high level, enough that it was becoming distressing even though I found their behaviour otherwise completely inoffensive. I've considered that maybe a pressure vest might be a good solution. However, when I've looked around online adult sized pressure vests are typically around $70. Its just a bit much to spend without at least having a chance to try one out to see if it would really hit the spot or not.

Does anyone know a good way to try one of these out without spending the money up front to see if they would work well? I don't know if its the sort of thing you could drop by and try on at a local physical therapists office for example.
