when i get sensory overloaded (and sometimes i just assume it's sensory overload bc i can't find another reason) every nerve on my body seems to be screaming. Not painful, but kind of a prickly sensation that i can't get rid of. When i get like this, i love for my boyfriend to pound the heck out of my back, feels great and calms my nerves down. Well, he's out of town, and has been for a year, so i don't see him much to get him to do this for me. So, today he suggested tying a string to a rubber band ball and hitting my back with it. I had a rubber band ball but no string, so i hit it on my legs while sitting instead. MMMM it felt great! I just sat there and did that for about half an hour, rotating between legs and up and down the legs (the thighs mostly). I know when sensory stuff starts working when i yawn (bc i'm calming down i guess), and after a while i DID yawn and i was kind of suprised; a new technique had worked! If i were a cat i could have purrred.

What are the evil/angry faces supposed to mean?

Well then don't comment on them. I was just excited that I had found a new way to relieve my sensory overload.

You've found something that works for you, and I think that's wonderful. :)

Thanks Cockney :) I've found that overload is really hard to get rid of and I hate that "nerve" feeling it causes all over my skin. It's been an active experiment over that last year since the time I found a Name for that feeling. Before, it would just send me into shut down, or I would take the stress out on others.
