Hello

I've been invited to a pre-assessment talk, presumably I am creeping higher up the diagnosis waiting list.

It sounds awful , a group setting in a room full of people. That's my worst case scenario. What if I know someone? My privacy is very important to me and work gossips are the bane of my life.

I have said I will attend but has anyone been on one? What can I expect from it? All I know is that I can bring someone that's it's about "implications" of diagnosis. :|

Panicking, please help.

I have a suspecion that the Talk may be an explanation of what will happen in the assessment, perhaps some guidance on what information to bring to the assessment perhaps some descriptions of the tools which mught be used, such as screening tests, face to face interview etc

I also think the group part will be the staff talking to the group.

I am also sure that any tests will be done 1-2-1 in private - for confidentiality if nothing else..... 8O

The chances of seeing anyone from work are slim-to-none, and even if you did they would likely keep as quiet about it with others at work as much as you would.

Thank you both.

Has anyone else been invited to attend one of these?
