Looking back at photos of me as a child I was either grimacing or had a blank stare is this common for Autistic individuals. I also have always been seen as weird and social situations are extremely awkward for me.

I tended to just not have an expression. I guess that would be blank. I did smile if someone told me too, but it wound up looking wrong somehow, very fake. I did have genuine-looking smiles sometimes, if my parents took my picture when I was doing something I really liked.

The thing I remember of childhood pictures is the big fake grin. It never looked right. I still have the same problem. My face usually isn't very expressive. It is non-smiling with an intense stare. I think it is an Aspie thing because the only people I know who have the same issue are aspies.
