Please don't make jokes about this post. I'm dead serious.

Anyway, one of the stims I do is pinching my armpits and uh...smelling my hand after. I don't really stink, usually (I try to keep myself clean), but there's something comforting in what most would consider unpleasant scents. So combine that with the sensation of pinching or having something in my nails and it's bliss.

I've tried to use putty as a substitute, but it just doesn't smell right.

Does anyone else stim with scents?

It might be comforting, not because it is "bad", but because it is familiar. I know my smell and my husband's smell. I live in the country, surrounded by farms and when I smell the bad smell of manure from the dairy farm I know I am near home and it is comforting.

Yes you aren't alone in that.

Though I've been told by others my BO is actually pleasant.

My earwax, although smelly earwax could mean an ear infection. Probably because I use earplugs a lot (I have misophonia).
