I finally have my assessment date! Apparently the assessment centre will be calling my mum next week to get some background information etc. then my actual assessment will be on 23rd Nov. Apparently it should only take about an hour, which I thought was odd but then I guess if they've already got a fair bit of information from my mum....? Now that I finally have the date, I'm not really sure how I feel. I'm relieved we finally have the assessment date but I don't know, I feel quite stressed/anxious....I'm not really sure :?

Best of luck with your assessment. It will be stressful until that date, it happens to most of us in that situation.

I'm just quite anxious because of the appointment supposedly only taking around an hour? and then I've read some posts on here about 'initial assessments'. I know they are going to speak to my mum next week on top of it but I'm just worried it's not what it seems and that I don't know what's supposed to be happening..

I suspect you'll be asked to come back for an additional session. This evaluator might be trying to keep the demands of the session within your tolerance level.

Most assessments involve a combination of interview, behavioral observations, and pen-and-paper instruments, which can include parent ratings.

Thanks. My mum called to confirm the process etc and apparently on top talking with my mum next week, it will then just be the assessment appointment on 23rd which could take around an hour or probably a bit longer. The diagnosis is given or not, from that. Then it's normally a few weeks before you get the report. I feel a lot more relieved knowing all that now and I've even looked up the place online and seen it on google maps, so I know exactly where it is :)
