I've been wanting a chew for a while, particularly a discrete pendent one but I knew that they are also advertised as baby teething chews and worried that it would quickly disintegrate between my strong adult teeth.

My concerns were heightened when I small chicks be bitten out of such a pendent by a child I know.

My wife has been telling me that I'll damage my teeth if I keep eating dried pasta and frozen peas and worse these are things that are impractical to eat in the library at university.

So, I decided that although sensory direct primarily markets towards special needs children there must be heavy chewer older children. So I decided on the chewbuddy 2 which is designed to be more durable.

I've only had it a day (albeit on where I've chewed it lots) there are some tiny superficial lines on it (the sort I can only see if I tilt it in the light just so) and not a single chunk has come out, even when I decided to test it for this posting by clamping my jaw so tight it hurt my teeth.

The texture pleases me - it's springy but offers enough resistance to be satisfying. Far better than chewing gum in my view.

Subtle it is not, though. But at university I don't really care what people think of me so I used it anyway.

I will post in the future to report on it's longer term durability.

I use Chew Stixx that I got from amazon:

I prefer the grape scented one because it's softer, as well as more discreet, so I can carry it with me when I go out. The one problem I find with these is that they give me jaw ache and a subsequent headache, even when I still want to chew, so it may be that I need to find something softer (although like you, I don't find gum to be sufficient). I'm interested in hearing your update.

Well an update. I've been chewing on it since 5th October and it's born out well. 6-7 weeks later of me only chewing on one corner and testing out its weaknesses (dragging my teeth on the bumps, biting hard on the thinnest bits) only tonight has it shown its first damage.

I tend to use it for a couple of hours every day.

Two of the circle bumps have torn and are not entirely fastened down anymore. I think it has been a good test but I now regret doing it as it's not perfect, but I feel it would be wasteful to buy a new one, since the damage can't even be seen unless I deliberately pull the flaps up.

I did try a soft silicone (clean) butt plug for chewing while drunk one night, it was very comfy but I don't imagine it would have held up as well.

I finally chewed a hole on my favourite side. Likely because I pull on the chew when I bite. All sides except my favourite are in working order.
