Every school holidays I just sit at home on the computer and play video games all day every day. This is repetitive and it gets boring fast. Then I see people from my school doing things on facebook and it makes me feel really depressed. I cant really hang out with people room my school because of my social anxiety issues (and i don't know how to go about asking them). being in my room for weeks on end makes me feel angry and suicidal. I cant stand being around my family because they irritate me even more. I want to hangout with people from my school etc. I need to actually interact with people these school holidays and do something productive (I always need to have things to do because when i am bored it makes me feel like self harming even more). I want to be able to go out, interact with people and have fun like everyone else my age. I really don't want to feel the same way as i do every other school holiday season (bored, depressed, suicidal, irriatable, angry). what should I do? I just want a group of friends that I can do things with on the school holidays?
Are there any clubs or groups you might be interested in joining, or even some kind of short-term class you might be interested in taking? I'm just wondering because I always had much better luck making friends when I was put into a small group rather than on my own in a school environment. Not sure if that would help with this specific holiday break though (might help in future years if you do make some friends). Maybe you can play games with people online like Jozie suggested, or go to places you like to visit around your town just to get out and do something besides sit behind a screen. If possible, you could try to cut down on the amount of time you spend on Facebook since it makes you upset to see what other people are doing.
Here's a couple of groups I found on meetup.com in your area. They both have meetups coming up and look promising. You should definitely make contact.
'Aspies with things to say (Brisbane)' have a meetup Dec 5. Looks like they're going to do some art at the park and have a picnic as well. It says 18+, but I think they can make an exception if you ask about it first (assuming you're underage).
'Living with Aspergers/Autism' has a meetup on the 27th of this month. Looks like a coffee and chat sorta deal.
