Probability the best advice I can give from my personal experience is to get into theater. Taking acting and drama classes can really help when it come to learning how to fake it. Before I ever knew I has AS. My drama teacher would point out all the body language issues I had as if I was looking into a mirror. These acting skills can be applied to social situation when you need to fake it.
I'm not too interested in mainstream theatre, but I'll try something. I also want to know how to convincingly gloss over my crappy life skills. I already have some ideas. If people ask about work I'll tell them I'm mostly focusing on school. I actually am going to school, I just won't mention I'm on disability. I live in a suite at my parents house. I won't mention it's my parents house or call it my own house either. I'm working towards making my suite look like my own. The good thing is my generation has bad life skills in general, so I won't stand out too much.
