woop.

Its the annual Oxford/Cambridge boat race this Saturday. Who will you be supporting?

To make this thread remotely relevant to this forum, I once had a rowing coach jokingly say that rowing was a sport meant for autistics cos it involves:

1. Involves minimal verbal communication
2. Doing the same movement over and over again
3. Lots of numbers (anyone who's used a rowing machine in gym for an hour will understand)
4. Wearing skin tight lycra

Ok the last one i made up myself cos i read someone that a study found lycra to be soothing for severely autistic children.

Anyone here a rower and agrees?

I'm a few years late to respond, but I definitely agree. You definitely fall into a rhythm on the water with your boat, following the repetitive action, counting the strokes as you go, in perfect synchronization. Hearing the gentle, repetitive click of the oarlock.
