I recently downloaded a new text to speech app to use in situations where my voice fails me, or when I'm just too overloaded and don't feel like talking. I'm interested in hearing your experiences using such devices, the kinds of reactions you got, etc. Do people generally accept it, or do they treat you like an alien or an invalid (even more so than usual)?

The app has problems with spaces between words.

My biggest problem with becoming non verbal due to non autistic reasons is I am a slow typist and before I get to answer a question the person has already gone on to the next topic or the topic after that so then I have to write down what question I am answering.
