I was doing well until the world collapsed on me, I don't want to talk about it, but I came close to giving up. My husband keeps encouraging me, but I also started looking at my bird stuff again. I even put an app on my phone I had on my other phone over a year ago and found out that either they updated it or there were features I never noticed, it seems special interests can be important to sanitty sometimes.

I often find my special interests are a form of escape.

I take a lot of pleasure in my special interests (gardening, genealogy). They enhance a good mood and buffer against a bad one.

Feel better soon, Angnix.

My special interests keep me sane/happy and alive it feels like sometimes.
I wouldn't be me without them.

I even remember once describing it to someone as falling deeply and helplessly in love with a subject/topic/area. I liken it to that crazy limerance in the honeymoon phase of dating... except it never wears off. haha. :D

My special interests keep me from being lonely, they also distract me from how much my life sucks.
