Ideal Gift Ideas and Dates

For me, books are the best present [along with hugs]. As for dates [the romantic event, not the general temporal event or the food], I would rather stay at home, watch a movie/tv show, play video games, or read together than do anything else.
What about you guys?

Well I don't really have a preference as far as gifts. Even gift cards will work for me (yeah I know, not very romantic, but I'm a guy and extremely pragmatic). For dates I'd prefer a simple place to eat and talk. It doesn't have to be fancy, just some place where I can talk with and get to know the other person. I'm also up for things like bowling or golf. For more romantic events watching movies/tv, playing games, and just sitting around talking/cuddling works for me.
