This is just so wrong on so many levels.

Ummm, it's actually about a gazillion decimal points off on the answer. Huckabee tried this crap when the government bailed out the Banks and he was running for president.

Take the 'real' amount of money it would produce and go buy that cheap cup of coffee instead, cause that's about all you'll get with this idea......

People just see things and believe those things without any critical thinking........sheeesssshhhhhh

As far as I can tell it is something done to get 'views and likes' on Facebook only. But the fact that 800,000 people liked it and passed it on as truth is what's really disturbing. Wonder why we have so many young people who think the 'old days' were better and everybody over the age of 35 f****d it up for them......

It's not nice to say, but I've found that people in general are stupid. Unfortunately.

$4.33 sure doesn't go far these days. Let's try it again ...

$79.3 billion (Bill Gates' estimated worth)

... divided by ...

321 million U.S. citizens (2015 estimate)

... equals ...

$207.04 for each U.S. citizen ... ONCE!

So much for Socialism and "Sharing the Wealth" ...

More like a week's worth of groceries for a family of four.

Keep in mind that if Bill Gates gave all of his money away, he could not do it again. That $207.04 could only be had once and spent once; there would be no more after it's gone.

Please!
If rich people had to give their wealth away, what would be the point of getting rich?!

In all fairness the person who posted that might have been a Brit.

In contrast to the US,where a "billion" means "a thousand times a million", in Britain a billion means "a million millions". What we call a "billion" they just call "a thousand million".

So the person might have thought that the powerball was in British billions. So each American would get 4,333 dollars (a fraction of a new car), and not just four and a third dollars. Though that would still not be 4.333 million.

Exactly. Furthermore, If everyone had the exact same income no matter what they did or how well they did it, then what is the point of making any effort to earn one's income in the first place?

If it's true that "Money isn't everything", then why does poverty suck so much?

...

Whether American or Brit, Philipe Andolini simply has very poor maths skills.

I agree. A world where doctors make as much as a McDonald's cashier sounds like the beginning of a dystopian society. I can only imagine it spiraling into something like the world described in Kurt Vonnegut's "Harrison Bergeron." I may not be rich now, but I hope that if I ever work my way up to becoming wealthy, that people won't try to make me feel guilty for it.

Don't recall where I heard it, maybe a George Carlin routine? "Think about how dumb the average human is, and then realize that half the population is even dumber".

A million millions? Powerball must be really wealthy that they can afford lottery prizes valued in the trillions.

1.3 billion divided by 300 would make 4.33 million. It's like someone put it in the calculator and forgot about the millions part.
