The company I work for was having a drawing to give employees prizes. Stuff like $500 gift card, an iPad, etc.

I won the grand prize: a three-night stay in Vegas, and airfare.

My first thought was to be disappointed. I considered trying to trade with one of the other winners.

But I've decided to go! Worst case scenario, I'll laze around some fancy-schmancy hotel the whole time. I'm planning to take my mom with me, which feels like a mistake.

I've never been to Vegas before. Any advice for being able to handle Vegas well, and bonus points if I actually have fun outside of the hotel? Noisy places stress me out, crowded places with people moving around (conventions, busy grocery stores) stress me out, and going to see a movie in a movie theater can be enjoyable but leaves me wiped for the rest of the day. I don't drink alcohol. I don't care for planes, cars, or guns. I feel ethically uncomfortable supporting anything involving white tigers. I'm going to stay away from gambling because I think I'm the kind of person who's very susceptible to a gambling addiction, and I don't have a lot of money anyway. I can do museums.

I think I get to pick the hotel, but I'm not sure which one I should pick.

I grew up in Vegas and lived there up to a year ago. This time of year can be less crowded. Unless there are some big conventions going on. It's pretty much like Disneyland to me as far as crowds and noise goes. I always had on ear protection for the noise. Some hotels like the Venetian have perfumed air conditioning that I did not like the smell of much. But lots of cool stuff to see. I pretty much developed tunnel vision so to speak and tuned out a lot of stuff. I think you will have fun. Definitely avoid the gambling. And anyone offering you anything outside the hotels.
