As you can tell I'm embarrassed about exploring Judaism. I can secretly read about it all I want. Eventually I want to visit an actual synagogue and talk to a rabbi. Right now I'm scared I'll bump into my ex boyfriend's family. I don't know if they even go that often. I might be moving to another city, so I could explore Judaism over there to avoid any people I know. What I want from this is for this interest to be resolved. I'll either want to explore Judaism some more or I'll get bored of it and move on.

It's a heck of a lot better than exploring some decadent religion.

A great introduction to the real life of Jews in Russia during the 19th Century: "Fiddler on the Roof."

My great-great grandparents on my mother's side probably lived in one of those "shtetls." My great-grandparents migrated to the city of Minsk, in what is now Belarus.
