Yes. Our bedtime was at the same time every day and lights out was at the same time too. It would be baths first and then story time and bed. When it was older it was pajamas on and brushing teeth and reading and lights out.

No I never established a routine - was passed around to parent's friends a lot. Don't have many memories before 5 years old, but the family was in a lot of chaos up to about 7 years old. Was very introverted & didn't pay a lot of attention to what was going on around me. Do know there was no routines of any kind during my entire childhood. I remember being 8 & home alone watching tv until my mom got home. It was after dark & remember Jay Leno's late night talk show was on. TV show characters I watched felt more like my family than my actual family. They were my teachers. I got into trouble for not taking a bath a lot, but I never knew I was supposed to -- didn't even occur to me when I was by myself. I knew to eat when I got hungry & entertained myself without burning the house down. I followed safety rules that were taught to me by Sesame Street & Punky Brewster. Then I was put in charge of my nephew when I was 11 & he was 2.5. Took care of him until I was 16 -- but bedtime was never a routine for either of us. We fell asleep when we were tired, ate when hungry, & played whatever we wanted.

Yes. And it makes me sick to think about it ever again.

I don't. Skipped too many meals, skipped too many bath times, completely skipped and forgotten to change clothes for tonight.
Bedtime prayers are also forgotten. Story telling time lost quickly. Every night talks too, is missing since. There are times a night light was needed, then there isn't.
The only part that hasn't skipped off too often is brushing teeth and washing of face.
A messy sleep schedule since age 8.
Then there's me waking randomly past midnight. Of course I didn't let my parents knew. And either I watch TV all morning or stare at the dark until the sun comes.

At teens it adds and involves not sleeping for days. Even times at high school and college. And went too messy.
At this present, it's as messy as ever.

Aside from several phases and occasional insomnia, there's postural sinusitis (if I lie down, sinuses acts up for whatever reason) that had been my biggest interference of bed time. :skull: Mostly why I grew up hating going to bed.
