How are you with haircuts? I don't mind them that much. But I hate having to tilt back my head to get my hair washed. It's very painful to me.

I don't mind haircuts. My hairdresser is the only person aside from me that is allowed to touch my hair.

I hate being sprayed with water, I normally struggle to keep my composure when they do.

Also word of advice, remove any piercings before haircuts unless you want to be in a world of pain. I leave my lip in but ears and eyebrow come out.

Its very hard to sit still during the most precise parts like around the ear and hairline. The sound of the clippers is annoying and if the haircut takes too long it can become excruciating.

Haircuts are a big no.

Without fail, some of the removed hair always finds its way to my neck and even a long shower can't stop the next few days being uncomfortable (and the next t-shirt I wear being itchy for about a month regardless of how often it's washed in that time frame).

I also hate having my head moved around and having to sit at awkward angles and blegh.

I used to cry every time I had a haircut without fail. Nowadays, I avoid them like the plague.

And then there's the mole above my right ear. Not fun.

I find haircuts very freaky. The only person ever to have cut my hair the usual way with scissors is still my Mum. She was a hairdresser by trade, so she does it the way I want very nicely - but mostly it's because I trust her enough to allow her to touch me. That's only twice a year at the most, between times it grows as it pleases. In my twenties, I used to let it grow very long - almost down to my bum sometimes.

I really couldn't have anyone I don't know that well be so physically close and touch me all over my head; especially not if they're standing where I can't see them. My sense of touch can be very sensitive, and I get reflexes like a jack-in-a-box when I'm anxious. I always worry that I might flinch just when the scissors are perfectly poised to take a ear off or something!

I have tried a buzzcut a few times, and can do a reasonable job of it by myself, but it seems to take an age afterwards before it feels right. People say it looks OK on me, though. Guess I'll have to get used to it - Mum's getting on a bit now, and too much hair is a PITA to look after. I've also seen a couple of pictures recently that show how big my bald spot is getting - not a good combination with long hair IMHO.

I hate having to go to hairdresser because I feel so overwhelmed when I am being touched and yet I feel like I am expected to talk. When I don't talk, I feel the awkward pressure "talk with me" but I can't stop paying attention to the fact someone is touching me.

Another issue is that I only found a hairdresser who knew how to do their job once in my lifetime. All other times I have to finish the job myself when I am back home, because there is always a bunch of hair that is sticking out like a cock on a fence. And they charge like £35 for that but can't even do it good - frustrating!

I can't stand haircuts. I feel horribly awkward, and the attempt at conversation is painful. Also I hate when the ends of my hair touch my face or neck, so I just keep mine long.

Up until about age 6, it was very difficult to give me a haircut. I used to run from the barbers' chair, etc.

Before age 6, I didn't understand the connection between lollipops and sweet rewards.

I don't like it when hair remains on my clothes after a haircut. The feeling is quite irritating.

However, I feel relieved when I get a haircut.

I hate the conversation part. Just shut up and cut my hair, please. Other than that, I'm all right with them. I have a scar from brain surgery on the left side of my head, so I have to tell them to be careful there.

I've been procrastinating one for about 2 months now, on top of the solid year I just didn't care. Sometime in the next 3 weeks I'll be forced to though, or go the option of bundling my hair in a ponytail or something. Definitely not a high on your head "man bun" though :eew:. I do know how I want to get it cut though, basically what Obi Wan has.

Can't recall it bothering me when little.

Hair on my head was what bothered me, though.

Been shaving it off since grade 8. Sensory stuff with the weight of it all.

I usually have my hair very long, but it reached my waist six months ago, so I decided it had to go. I've got it pretty short now, and it actually feels a lot better. My hairdresser gets me an appointment when it's quiet and even dims the lights a little for me. He's a good guy.

I hate every aspect of haircuts (they are nearly as bad as dental appointments)! I have become phenomenal at postponing them but the downside is that once I finally go, they have to cut even more off which results in a negative change for me. Unfortunately either a meltdown or a shutdown is common afterwards.

Aside from the change in appearance, the other grievances I have with haircuts are as follows:
-The sound of the scissors (being that their close to my ears)
-having to sit perfectly still
-The sink hurts my neck
-Hairdressers like to 'chit-chat' & I don't do that.
-Hair salons are bright, loud, and the smells are overpowering
-Unpleasant physical sensations that come with someone cutting/brushing your hair
