Hello all,
My name is Laura Lewis and I am a nurse and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Vermont. Over the last year, I posted a couple of notices in this group looking for participants for research studies on adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (formally diagnosed and self-diagnosed) and their partners. The research process can be extremely slow, but I am delighted to say the first of these studies is finally published and in print in the International Journal of Mental Health Nursing. This study is a qualitative study on the experience of realizing a diagnosis of ASD in adulthood (experience of those who are self-diagnosed and study of partner experiences not yet published). As promised, I wanted to check back in say THANK YOU for making this study possible and to share my findings. Since it does not appear that I can share a PDF directly on WrongPlanet, I am including a link to my research website where I have posted the PDF of the article for anyone who is interested: https://autismspectrumresearch.com/published-research/. I hope more will follow over the next few months and I will check back in as soon as I have any updates. Thanks again for all of your support, for allowing me to share information in your group space, and for opening up and sharing your experiences with me.
Sincere thanks,
Laura Lewis, RN, PhD
