I was wondering, has anyone here ever physically beaten theirself up to express remorse or say their sorry? I have done it before with my fists and it usually happens when I upset my mom. I only give myself a few hard punches but not bad enough to break out any teeth or anything.

Nope. I can't feel remorse, even if I make myself.

I have a couple of times but past age 12 I got pretty jaded and dont feel remorse anymore.

In any case you shouldnt do that just freaks them out and makes you look crazy.

I do it when i'm alone after a confrontation. I used to do it more often than I am now, though.

Yes, I do this. It's as if I just have so much emotion in me that I don't understand how to let it out, especially when I am helpless to correct the situation. I usually hit my arms with my fists when I get this upset. I do this in private.

I sometimes hit myself when I'm angry or frustrated with myself, but not to show remorse or apologise.

 well, I've often beaten myself up on the emotional level yet, as it relates to having a sense of remorse yes, such quality is within being but, over the years most people have treated me as if no such trait existed. Anyways, that's my take on this.

Sometime I get frustrated not being able to express some emotion I having trouble with like sadness. Don't always feel remorse. I think it is something you are supposed to do there is pressure. I think sometimes saying sorry is pointless it doesn't achieve anything. I bet a lot of the time people don’t mean it.
