I was diagnosed when I was 5 and much (but certainly not all) of the criteria fits me to a certain extent. However, the digestive problem symptom is totally the opposite of me. I've heard autistic people do well with red meat and its the only food that gives me a mild stomachache. Other than with red meat or when I'm sick (like the stomach flu or food poisoning) I rarely, if ever get stomach aches.
Anyone else?
Having GI issues is NOT diagnostic criterium for having aspergers, or autism. So if you dont get stomach aches except once in a blue moon that has nothing to do with whether or not you have autism.
I am like you in that I dont get GI issues except once in a blue moon from eating bad food or a bug or something. And it IS bizarre to me to read stuff on WP that connects ASD with GI issues. I guess some autistic folks puke alot, but I dont anymore often than the average person. So I relate to you finding that connection hard to relate to.
